H.C Building & Construction is a business with more than 40 years combined experience in the building industry. Our construction team work side by side with the most recognised Engineers and Architects in the industry. We are proud to have recently been awarded the CSQ Excellence Awards 2016 Judges’ Outstanding Achievement Award for Commitment to excellence in construction. With our experience and fresh perspective we provide the foundations needed for accomplishing your expectations. We are committed to supporting local employment and we demonstrate a true involvement with the local communities through formal training and providing employment prospects.

H.C Building & Construction provides the opportunities for local, long term unemployed Indigenous people from the Cairns region and in remote Cape York communities through apprenticeships.

We are proud that a significant percentage of our 82 employees are 67 Indigenous qualified tradespersons including Project Supervisor, Site Supervisor, Carpentry Foreman, Painting Supervisor, Electrical Supervisor and Leading Plumber.

We support local community groups and sporting clubs including Pormpuraaw PCYC Football Carnival, Pormpuraaw Community Cultural Festival, Indigenous Touch United Sporting Carnival, Indigenous Athletic Teams for the Spartan Race Trifecta and Steel Fit Furnace Fitness Challenge, Lockhart River Scorpions Rugby Club, Northern Peninsula Area Show, Pioneer Natives Rugby Team, Dan Ropeyarn Cup, Kangaroos Football Club, Cairns Leprechauns Netball Club, and Cairns Indigenous Women’s Under 18 Rugby League Representative Team.

H.C Building & Construction are major sponsors of the Northern Peninsula Area Rugby League for seniors, juniors and ladies.

H.C Building & Construction support the Lockhart River Elders Committee with volunteering our trade services to upgrade the Church building.  We support the Pormpuraaw and Kowanyama Anglican Church including transport for the parishioners.  Each Sunday we joyfully cater for the Pormpuraaw Anglican Church congregation community lunch.

Heath Christison founded H.C Building & Construction (HCBC) in 2007. Heath holds dual trades in carpentry and cabinet making. He obtained his building licence and worked for many years as Project Manager on commercial, government and residential projects before making his dream a reality. ``My dream has always been to train local Indigenous people and make change for a better life``


 Since inception in 2007, Cairns based H.C Building & Construction has experienced significant growth to become one of Australia’s largest and most trusted 100% privately owned Indigenous building and construction companies.

Heath Christison (Managing Director) and founder of H.C Building & Construction philosophy is to deliver workmanship of the highest standard with a focus on safety, capacity building and community support.
